A competition rich in history and Spanish football's biggest domestic cup tournament. Copa Del Rey is to Spain what FA Cup is to English football. It is an annual knockout tournament where 126 teams from professional pyramid of Spanish football take part every year. It was started back in 1930s and since then it has been annual fixture in Spanish football. Barcelona being the most successful team having won 31 times.

Copa Del Rey also allow entry to UEFA Europa League. If a team wins this tournament they get direct entry to Europa League regardless of their league position. The top three most successful teams in this tournament are Barcelona (31), Athletic Bilbao (23), Real Madrid (19).

The tournament begins as easy as October with the first set of matches. Unlike English football's FA Cup where top division teams enter in third round. Copa Del Rey has the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid playing from the first round ensure great match ups from the first round. 

The finalists also qualify for newly branded Super Copa Espana which is a four team tournament taking place at the start of 2023/24 season. Where finalists from Copa Del Rey and top two teams from La Liga will participate.
